Go to Your Zoos!

So the topic is zoos. I am going to tell you why it is so important to visit your zoos in your area. So everyone loves animals, right? And we hear all this talk about global warming and how all these amazing animals are threatened or endangered. Can you imagine your life without hearing about polar bears, tigers, panda bears, snow leopards? Wanna know what you can do to help these animals and conservation efforts all around the world?
You could go to WWF and donate money to which ever animal you want to help and go about your day, or your could GO TO YOUR ZOO! Going to the zoo not only gives you something to do with your family, friends or significant other, it gives you a chance to see and learn about the exotic animals all around the world that you would only see in magazines. Zoos are the very things that fund and head conservation projects around the world. They also save species with their breeding programs and release back into the wild programs. They are the perfect solution to save the world and make a fun day out of it!
While your at the zoo, you will learn about other animals that need your help and ways you could help them. They give you ideas to how to go green or what you can do in your own backyard to save some local species. If that isn't enough to pack the car up and go, I don't know what will convince you. Support your zoos and in turn save amazing exotic animals around the world. Sounds good to me! Well thats my opinion! Let me know what you think!

The Must See Musicals!

Hi again! The topic of choice this time is musicals. The is a misconception about how musicals are not cool and lame but I have 2 that are amazing for anyone! And if your thinking it is Rent, it is not. The first one is a classic. With a combination of opera and rock and roll, The Phantom of the Opera is about a love triangle with Christine Daae,  Raoul, the Vicomte de Chagny and the Phantom of the Opera. A lot of you probably know the basic concept of the story, but just describing it doesn't give you the full beauty of the music. visual effects and the love story behind the musical. I am not giving anything away but if you wondering what to do this summer with your time (and money since shows are using pricey) then check your local theaters and see if Phantom is coming to your town.
The second muscial that is a must see is Wicked. I am new to Wicked and i saw it last summer with my family. People were trying to describe it and tell me the concept of it so i had this idea of what it was going to be like when I went. They were soooo wrong. It is a definite comedy with a love story and action/passion in it. So for those who have never heard of it, Wicked is the story of the wicked witch of the west and the good witch when they were younger, before Dorothy dropped in. I'm not going to give anything away but it is sooo good you have to see it. It is great for anyone, even if you don't like musicals. The music is upbeat modern and something you would put on your ipod to listen to everyday.
These musicals are must sees that you need to bring your family, friends or significant other to. So check if any of these musicals are stopping into your town and buy tickets now, because they go fast! Well thats my opinion. Let me know what you think if you have seen them!

Movie: The Other Guys

So I'm a little late on watching this, but I just saw The Other Guys staring Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg. It is this comedy about the New York detectives competing for the top spot as the cities heroes.  The Rock and Samuel L. Jackson are the rock star detectives in the beginning but after a stupid stunt, they both die and the positions are left for the next detectives to take.
Will Ferrell character of a accounting nerd is amazing. He plays it well. Every line he says was funny specially the ones that involved describing the wife (Eva Mendes) as plain and fat. Mark Walhberg's character is a bit over the top. It is definitely exaggerated how angry he is and I don't know it that was on purpose or not. He is not the best when it comes to the laughs alone, but him and Will together had some really good comedic moments. Also the boss, played by Michael Keaton, was hilarious. The lines where he unknowingly quoted TLC lyrics were hilarious.
Overall, this movie is packed with plenty of laughs and has a decent storyline. Will Ferrell outshine Mark Wahlberg but together they make a good comedic team. I would reccomend this movie to anyone. Its definitely worth your hour and a half. Well thats my opinion! Watch it and let me know what you think!!

Demi Lovato

So I was on E online today reading about the latest celebrity news (my guilty pleasure) and I was reading about the newest happenings in Demi Lovato's life. For those who don't know, Demi Lovato is an actress on the Disney channel and also a recording artist with 2 studio albums out. She is an amazing singer with a voice beyond her years.
So recently she has had some "emotional issues" that have been very public. Those "emotional issues" have been revealed as an eating disorder and cutting. E online has been covering her story and have been very supporting in their press. The reason I am writing about this is because I am furious about the people who comment on her situation. There was this picture of Demi coming out of LAX airport where she was smiling and looked amazing. But no, people start commenting malicious things like "she is so fat" , "The coke was keeping her thin. Now that she's off it, she's ballooning up." and " She looks like a tramp with her bra and boob hanging out. Yep...a fat tramp.". Seriously, I couldn't write these mean things about someone I knew, let alone don't know anything about. This fetish in Hollywood about being skeleton skinny is really driving me crazy! Honestly I will post the website at the end so you can see the picture for yourself but she is nothing close to being fat and she looks beautiful and healthy.
It just really upset me that people would say these thing to a girl who is skinny and beautiful plus just got out of rehab for emotional problems. The internet is one thing to blame, since there is no real name to the comment or picture so they hide behind that and feel they can say whatever they want. To those people, I feel so sorry for you. Support your fellow girls that go through the same self esteem issues you do. Demi - I support you in your recover, you are a beautiful person and an AMAZING singer. Keep it up girl! Well thats my opinion, let me know what you think!

Femme Fatale : Britney Spears

Britney Spears has come out with her 7th studio album! Femme Fatale is definitely a continuation from her Circus album with the dance-pop sound. Unlike other dance-pop Cds where the beat can start to sound the same and the songs are all alike, each of Britney's songs bring something different to each track.
Unlike Britney's Circus album where I though needed more singing and less bass, Femme Fatale gives a good combination of both. I love her voice and I'm glad she is finally showing that off again. In songs like "Criminal" and "Trouble For Me" it is more like the "old" Britney but there are plenty of great songs on this Cd to make you get up and start dancing without skipping tracks. Right now my favorite is her latest single "Until the World Ends", the beat is AMAZING, but that could all change the more i listen to the Cd. My only disappointment is not the Cd itself, it is that Britney didn't write any of the songs. I don't know why but that bums me out a bit about Britney as a artist. Hopefully she will take some time this next album to put her own words on the tracks.
This isn't Britney's best Cd ever but it is definitely better than her last 2 studio albums (Blackout and Circus). I would recommend Femme Fatale to any one who loves a great beat and to those die-hard Britney fans that have been disappointed with her latest stuff in the past like i have. Get to listening! Thats my opinion, let me know what you think!

Threadless Tees

Hi! Threadless T-shirts is the topic today. I found this site from a Facebook side ad. It is this website that has people submit designs for t-shirts, bags, phone covers, umbrellas and actual art, then people rate them. If the design gets a certain rating, then Threadless will print it on whatever for everyone to buy. The designs can be stupid, ironic, funny, cute, meaningful or abstract.
I have bough several shirt from this site now for myself and as gifts for my brothers and my boyfriend. They might be a bit pricey at $20 a shirt and $45 a hoodie but they have good sales often that bring the prices down to 10 or 15 per shirt and 25-35 a hoodie. I love the animal shirts and the designs never get old. I got my little brother this Harry Potter inspired shirt that was awesome and he loved it. It's finds like these that make the site a great find!
They get new designs in every week and they will reprint popular ones once they sell out. You can even participate in scoring the designs. If there is a design you come across that you love, you can tell Threadless and you can have them notify you when or if this design gets printed. For the one of a kind, soft, tagless, shirts, this site is a must for your wardrobe.Thats my opinion!  Check them out at www.threadless.com and let me know what you think!

Go Radio's New CD: Lucky Street

Hi again! I'm here to talk about one of my favorite new bands out there, Go Radio. They formed in 2007 when Jason Lancaster left Mayday Parade (sad day). His voice is low but amazing and can definitely can belt it out. Their first CD was an EP called Do Overs and Second Chances. It was an awesome start with a breakout song of "Goodnight Moon" where Lancaster's voice gives you goosebumps, it's that good. Their new CD, Lucky Street starts where the EP left off. Every song shows off Lancaster's amazing vocals.
My favorite songs on the CD is 'Fight, Fight (Reach for the Sky)' because of how catchy it is. Other stand out songs include 'Why I'm Home' because his voice is beyond great in this song., 'Redemption In the Verse', 'House of Hallways',  and 'The Truth Is'. These are only standouts but I listen to the CD all the way through without skipping a song, they are all great.
I may be biased because Jason Lancaster is one of my favorite voices out there right now and Go Radio is one of my favorite bands but that shouldn't take away from the amazing lyrics, tunes and vocals on this CD. If you have never heard of the them, you should at least look them up and give a listen. If you are a fan of the old Mayday Parade, this band is a must. I recommend this CD to everybody, including my parents. Well thats my opinion. Let me here yours!!!

Avril Lavigne's Goodbye Lullaby

Avril Lavigne's fourth album Goodbye Lullaby is amazing! I just purchased it on iTunes and I cannot stop listening to it. She has my favorite upbeat pop songs that are just so catchy, her slow songs and then she brings something new to the table. I would describe it as sounding like the new Alanis Morissette. She has lyrics really get to the point of what people feel beautifully with out the corny words. She says things like "Theres a girl that gives a sh*t" which may seem to be inappropriate but if a girl is really trying to get the message out there, I think it is perfect.
Her single "What the Hell" is so very catchy and I loved it in the beginning. However, as it always happens, the radio gets a hold of it and it gets played over and over again. I have moved on to her ballad of "Wish You Were Here" and the uplifting love song of "Smile". "Goodbye" is a sweet simple love song. It love the song of "I Love You" and "Everybody Hurts".
She definitely has a great mixture of fun songs to lift the spirits and listen to when your windows are down and then she has the mature songs that you listen to on the rainy days that have great depth too. I would recommend this CD to everyone even if you didn't like her sound before. Thats my opinion! Let me know yours!!

Saturday Night Live - Helen Mirren 4/9/11

Hi again! Saturday Night Live is the topic this time. Some background about me is I am a huge Saturday Night Live fan since forever. Season 36 hasn't been half bad. Last Saturday's host was Helen Mirren, who was on there to promote Arthur. It was a hit or miss episode with a disappointing digital short in my opinion.
The opening sketch was a little low on the laughs with President Obama impression but no doubt Fred Armisen does a great one though. Helen's monologue was funny but short i felt. The sketches I loved was "Celebrity Taxes" with all the celebrity impressions which were amazing. I laughed the whole time. I also loved the "Mary Shelley" sketch with Frank Stein as the landlord. Very creative and amusing. Weekend update was great up until whoever Kenan Thompson was supposed to be doing. The only funny apart about that was watching Seth Meyers in the background dance to the music. "The Roosevelt's" was okay, it had some laughs but wasn't my favorite. Same with the digital short. It was a funny concept to touch Helen Mirren's boobs but it goes past funny to a WTH then back to funny when Kristen Wiig comes in and motor boats Helen.
The sketches I didn't like at all was the "Strip Club" sketch, I don't know the point of it was, the "Fox and Friends" sketch was pointless and I absolutely hated the "Underground Festival: Easter" sketch. I did not see anything funny about it. They could of replaced these with some of the popular favorites like the Miley Cyrus show or Penelope for starters.
Overall, it wasn't a bad episode, but compared to last weeks Elton John,Tom Hanks and other guest stars amazing episode, it definitely came up short. Well thats my opinion! Comment and let me know what you think!

My first review- Eat Pray Love the movie

Hi everybody! My name is Christine and my blog is basically putting my opinions out for the world wide web to read about. I will take recent things I have seen, heard or read about and give my take or review on them. This time I will give my take on the movie staring Julia Roberts, Eat Pray Love.
I just watched this movie on Netflix online a week ago with my boyfriend. I was super excited about it because I love Julia Roberts! First and foremost, this movie is definitely a girls movie. There may be exceptions but I feel girls can relate better to a soul searching woman. It is a long movie and it is not recommended to make your boyfriend sit through it either or he will start complaining and make the movie worse. This movie is about Liz,  a happily married woman, who realized that her life needs to go into a different directions and that she is bored with her life. So after a painful divorce, she takes off on a round the world journey. So my overall opinion is I loved it. Julia Roberts is of course amazing and I loved the scenery, the characters and the message it sends out. The negatives is that it can be very slow at times and the connection with Liz is not always there.
This movie made me rethink where my life is going and really made you think about things in general. I like the message that you have to go live your life and taste the food and experience new things. The movie is good but I would definitely read the book. I have not read it yet but the concept of the movie is great but the book is probably going to give you that connection to Liz that the movie lacks. Overall, good chick flick to watch with the girl friends with an awesome message. Well thats my opinion! Comment and let me know how you felt about the movie!
